Nikki's blog - Everyone meet Dolly
My last blog was welcomed with a great response so this month’s has a little to live up to. No pressure there then. Seriously, I would like to thank everyone for the comments which were so positive and uplifting. Maybe I could be the next Carrie Grant from SATC, with different content of course.
Apologies for this blog being rather late but I spent most of October battling infections and bugs. It's that time of year I suppose. Although, it does mean Christmas is getting closer - eek, my favourite time of year. I'm just a big kid at heart.
At the end of September my younger brother took part in a 15,000ft tandem skydive to raise funds for both Macmillan Cancer Support and Transverse Myelitis Society - two charities close to our hearts. Macmillan Cancer Support was chosen because our dad is currently fighting cancer of the larynx. He chose to also support Transverse Myelitis Society with Transverse Myelitis being the cause of my paralysis. I have to say how proud I am of him having completed this as not only was it his first skydive it was his first time in a plane. Well done kidda.
I have still managed to fit a couple more successful shopping trips around feeling poorly, which included the purchase of those sunglasses (and more). How could I resist? They are just so cute. My holiday suitcase is getting full with more purchases and I'll need extra baggage at this rate. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it....
On Sunday 11th October my baby Finlay took part in ‘Paws for a Cause’ (a charity dog walk) at Chester Le Street Riverside Park, to raise funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice. We still have money to collect in but have raised £74 so far.
On the 27th October, our family expanded as we welcomed Dolly into our home. Dolly is a brown/white Shih Tzu and was 8 weeks old when she joined us. She has settled right in and has made herself at home. Although Finlay wasn't keen at first he is now coming round to the idea. It's obviously just took some adjusting and once Finlay realised he's still my baby too and wouldn't be pushed out, he’s okay.
Well that's all for my second blog, thank you again for all your support.
