Children’s Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Complex care – Newmarket, Suffolk
We are currently seeking caring and compassionate children’s support workers who are keen to build up their experience within the care industry. We require a support worker to join our team in the Newmarket area, to support our client at home and in school.
The successful children’s support worker will provide complex care support for our teenage male client who is living with learning disabilities and complex needs; duties include but are not limited to: personal care, moving and handling, medication administration and support with daily activities. As part of this role you will also need to provide emotional support and encourage our client to partake in social interactions. The ideal children’s support worker will have experience of working within a complex care setting however this is not necessary as we will provide a range of specialist training which is tailored to the individual needs of our client.
Support workers will be required to commit to working a minimum of 20 hours per week including alternate weekends on a rota basis (08:00 – 20:00 or 20:00 until 08:00, subject to change). This role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from £9.12 to £10.02 per hour.

• Complying with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines
• Ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
• Supervising and monitoring standards of care and taking appropriate action to improve standards when required
• Ensuring all documentation is well maintained and filed in the appropriate places
• Performing clinical interventions related to our client’s conditionThe ideal Children’s Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team
