Female Learning Disabilities and Autism Support Workers - TS12 area

Hours - days and nights varying due to school term time.

We are currently recruiting for a highly competent Support Worker to join our team supporting a female client who has been diagnosed with a learning disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our client loves being out in the community doing activities, horses and singing.  Our client leaves school in July and will be attending a residential school 3 days per week so will require staff to support her for 4 days per week with overnight support on allocated weekends. The support will increase during the half term period and bank holidays.

The support worker will have a positive and encouraging attitude when supporting behaviours of concern.

Full bespoke training will be provided around the support needs of the individual in relation to autism spectrum disorder, positive behavioural support and positive and supportive de-escalation techniques at times of high stress or conflict.

The ideal Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Autism will have

  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team
