Female Support Worker – Spinal Injury Ashton Under Lyne

Pulse Community Healthcare are seeking a skilled and compassionate support worker to support our male client living with a spinal injury.  

As a support worker the purpose of the role will be to help the client maintain an active lifestyle, attend physiotherapy and attend church regularly. Due to the nature of the client’s condition the successful support worker will be expected to provide personal care, assist with mobility and manage a variety of interventions.

This package involves a variety of shifts including waking nights, with competitive pay rates of up to £8.94 per hour.

As a Spinal Injury Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Diabetes management

  • Providing personal care to the client

  • Providing spinal care

  • Undertaking moving and handling

  • Pressure area care

  • Dealing with continence care.  

  The ideal spinal injury support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)

  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
