Female Support Worker (24 hour shifts) – Complex Care – Bridport, West Dorset 

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and outgoing support workers who are eager to build their experience within complex care. We require a female support worker to join our team in the Bridport area, working with our client in his own home.

The successful support worker will provide complex care support to an adult male who lives with an acquired brain injury and a spinal injury; duties include but are not limited to: personal care, moving and handling, catheter and bladder care, bowel management, pressure area care and medication administration. Experience of working within a complex care setting would be preferable, however is not necessary as we provide a range of specialist training which is tailored to the individual needs of our client.

You will work a 24 hour shift starting at 10am (a 12 hour day followed by a 12 hour sleep in shift) and you can to be paid a highly competitive rate of up to £12 per hour for days and £7.83 for the sleep in, dependent on experience. As part of this role you will be required to drive our clients automatic mobility car, therefore you will need a full UK driving licence.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
• Personal care
• Medication administration
• Moving and handling
• Pressure area care
• Bowel management
• Catheter and bladder care

The ideal Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential) 
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
