Female Support Worker – Complex Care – Fairwater, Cardiff

We are currently seeking caring and compassionate female support workers who are eager to build up their experience within complex care. We require a support worker from to join our team in the Cardiff area, to work in our client’s home.

The successful support worker will provide complex care support for our male client who is living with Multiple Sclerosis; duties include but are not limited to: personal care, PEG feeding, catheter care and medication administration. The ideal support worker will have experience of working within a complex care setting however this is not necessary as we will provide a range of specialist training which is tailored to the individual needs of our client.

In this role you will be working on an Ad-hoc basis (8 or 10 hour shifts available between 06:00 and 22:00); we can also provide additional hours with other clients in the local area. We are offering a competitive pay rate of up to £8.99 per hour.  In addition we pay support workers for any time spent in the Cardiff branch attending mandatory and specialist training.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
• Personal care
• Medication administration
• Catheter care
• Pressure area care
• PEG feeding
• Nebulisers
• Oral Suctioning

The ideal Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential)
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
