Female Support Worker – Complex Care – Wadebridge

Pulse Community Healthcare is searching for a caring and skilled support worker to assist a client living with motor neurone disease.

Our client is an adult female with various complex interventions. The successful support worker will provide personal care, respiratory care, catheter care and PEG feeding. Our client is non verbal so you will need to have excellent communication and observation skills. It is important that you are comfortable working around animals as our client keeps several pets in the family home.

This role offers 12 hour day and night shifts; Monday to Sunday 08:00 until 20:00 and 20:00 until 08:00.  We are paying a very competitive rate of £8.25 to £10.14 per hour. Due to the complexity of this role, full specialist training will be provided, giving you the knowledge you need before you start.

Due to the nature of the package and shift times a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred.

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Providing personal care to the client
• Assisting with PEG feeding
• Respiratory and tracheostomy care
• Catheter care
• Administering medication
• Moving and handling

The ideal Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• A full UK driving licence
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
