Support Worker - Learning Disabilities and Autism

Pulse Community Healthcare is seeking experienced Support Workers to join our team supporting clients in Middlesbrough who live with a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities and Autism.

The successful support worker will be working as part of a team, have excellent communication skills and have experience of working with sensory needs. Your role will include managing boundaries and direction around expectations of behaviours. The ideal candidate may have had experience of working within secure units, a residential setting or have worked within a SEN School.

In order to support you with the unique demands of this package we provide a range of specialist training; Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA), Bespoke Autism Training and Positive Behavioural Support.

We have a variety of shifts available paying up to £11.51 per hour.

As a Learning Disabilities and Autism Support Worker for Pulse Community Healthcare you will benefit from:

The ideal Learning Disabilities and Autism Support Worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)

  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team
