Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Autism – York

Pay rate: £11.00 per hour

Hours: 12 hour shifts - Days and Nights

Pulse Community Healthcare are currently recruiting for a highly competent and experienced support worker to join our team working with our client that has a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities, ASD and behaviours that may challenge. 

As a Support Worker with Pulse Community Healthcare you will ideally have a history of working with individuals who have a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities, Autism and behaviours of concern. The successful support worker will be encouraging our client to actively engage out in the community.  Our client enjoys sculpting and creating models, seeing animals and loves music.  

In order to support you with the unique demands of this package we provide a range of specialist training; Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA), bespoke restraint and breakaway training, bespoke Autism training and Positive Behavioural Support. The successful Support Worker will need to offer structure and consistency for our client as well as managing boundaries and direction around expectations of behaviours, and will also embrace the interests of our client.

The ideal Support Worker will have:

  • A NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred but not essential

  • UK paid experience in Health and Social Care

  • Driving Licence is essential

  • A good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
