Male Support Worker – Spinal – Plymouth

Pulse Community Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for a male support worker to assist an adult male with a spinal injury.

The successful support worker will assist with mobilisation, bowel management and pressure area care. You will have great attention to detail and a positive and confident approach. The ability to promote independence is important in order to help our client to meet his goal in returning to work. You must be comfortable working around animals as our client keeps a dog in the family home.
We have shifts available working 08:00 until 12:00 and 17:00 until 21:00. We are happy to offer a competitive rate of £8.00 to £8.75 per hour. We are also proud to offer specialist spinal training giving you the knowledge you need before you start.

As a Male Support Worker for Pulse Community Healthcare you will benefit from:

As a Male Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Providing personal care to the client
• Managing medication
• Moving and handling
• Pressure area care
• Catheter care
• General observations

The ideal Male Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
