Night Support Worker – Complex Care – Moordown, Bournemouth

Pulse Community Healthcare is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic support worker to assist our young male client living with a neuromuscular disorder.

The successful support worker will provide personal care, respiratory care, pressure area care and assistance with mobilising. You will need to be sociable and willing to interact with our client as he tends to stay awake until early hours of the morning. Specialist training related to our clients condition will be provided, giving you the knowledge required before you start. It is important that you are comfortable working around animals as our client keeps a pet in the family home.

The hours available are waking night shifts working 21:00 until 07:00 (Monday to Sunday). We are offering competitive pay rates of £11 to £12 an hour.

Due to the nature of the package and shift times a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred.

As a Night Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Providing personal care to the client
• Administering medication
• Respiratory care
• Managing pressure area care
• Oral suctioning
• General observations.

The ideal Night Support Worker will have:
• A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
• Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
• A UK Driving licence
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good understanding of professional boundaries
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
