Job Title – Support Worker

Pay rate – £8.54

We have a great opportunity for a support worker to join our team working with our client in Kings Lynn. Our client is a female who has Multiple Sclerosis. Our client enjoys a range of activities which include: watching her television programmes, going to the beach and having the grandchildren who she loves to have over at the house. Our client prefers female staff members and would prefer a driver as she gets anxious about them getting the bus in the dark.

The successful support worker will need to be patient and understanding with a caring and supportive attitude. Our client is PEG fed and intermittently catheterised, she prefers her husband only to do her bowl care and her husband is able to carry out all interventions. The support worker may have to assist in her care and carry out the following: Enteral feeding, support with nebulisers, oral suction, oxygen, bowel care and intermittent catheterisation. Please note shifts will be on the following pattern. 08:15 – 12:45, 17:00-18:00, 17:00-22:00. These shifts will be on a 2 to one during the day and a one to one in evenings.

    The ideal support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent  is preferred but not essential

  • UK paid experience in Health and Social Care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team

  • A good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
