Support Worker – Complex Care South Shields

Pulse Community Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate support worker to support our client living with Muscular Dystrophy.  

We are looking for a support worker who will encourage our client to access the community, assist with personal care and support with any relevant interventions. Specialist training will be provided, allowing you to effectively meet all of the client’s care needs and develop your own skills.

Due to the nature of this role the successful support worker will require a full UK driving license. This package includes a variety of shifts 7 days a week, with competitive pay rates of up to £8.05 per hour, holiday pay will be paid in addition to standard pay rate.

 As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care to the client

  • Medication

  • PEG Feeding

  • Respiratory interventions.

 The ideal support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)

  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team
