Job Title – Support Worker – Rendlesham, Suffolk

Hours – Various Shifts available

Pay rate – £9.12 Days - £10.30 Nights

We have a great opportunity for a support worker to join our team working with our client in Eastham. Our client is a male who has cerebral palsy which is responsible for most of the symptoms he experiences. Our client has quite marked Dystonia which caused his muscles to contract and spasm almost constantly. He has Epilepsy which fluctuates, ranging from seizures 6 - 60 per day. He has Oxygen therapy when sleeping and is fed via gastrostomy.

The successful support worker will need to be patient and understanding with a caring and supportive attitude. The support workers duties will include care of the following: Gastro, medication administration and epilepsy (seizure) management. Specialist training will be provided.

    The ideal support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent  is preferred but not essential

  • UK paid experience in Health and Social Care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team

  • A good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
