Support Worker – Complex Care South Shields

Pulse Community Healthcare is seeking skilled and compassionate support workers to support our client with a spinal injury alongside mental health conditions.

The successful support worker will provide personal care and deal with medication and any interventions related to his injury. Specialist training will be provided, allowing you to effectively meet all of the client’s care needs and develop your own skills. Our client can display behaviours of concern so we are ideally looking for a calm and confident worker with previous experience of working within a mental health setting.

This package has day and night shifts available between the hours of 8am to 8pm and then 8pm to 8am with competitive pay rates of up to £9.51 per hour, holiday pay will be paid in addition to standard pay rate.

 As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care to the client

  • Dealing with medication

  • Moving and handling

  • Pressure area care

  • Providing continence care.

 The ideal support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)

  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
