Getting on their bikes - all the way from Leeds to Amsterdam

The Pulse Community Healthcare team were at it again, taking part in another ambitious challenge to raise awareness and money for their chosen charity DEBRA. After an energetic warm up, the team of athletes: Alice Davenport, Angelo Orsini, Ciara Henry, Emily Beech, Emma Edwards, Emily Beech, Karen Hill, Kevin Barraclough, Kayleigh Timms, Natalie Cowley, Nadine Taylor and Paul Wright, got on their bikes to cycle the full 120 mile distance from Leeds to Amsterdam on the 3rd October. They were supported by Sandra Stevens, their designated driver for the event, aptly named the Pulse Amsterdam Dash.

Although managing to avoid any map reading mishaps, even with their stretch club warm ups there were a few minor injuries along the way, but everyone kept going, showing real spirit and determination. So far their fundraising efforts have secured donations of nearly £2000 - with £654 being donated by passengers on the ferry home in appreciation of their 'entertainment'. The team have also received a string of well wisher messages on their JustGiving page, some along the lines of “Don’t forget your Vaseline” and “I hope you’ve packed your padded pants”. Well done guys, a really impressive result.
